1983 B.S. cum laude graduate from Stephen F. Austin State University 1984 Masters in education from Stephen F. Austin State University Starting 33rd year in teaching, eleventh at Academy High School Chemistry at AHS is general in its scope and sequence. We cover everything from lab equipment, lab safety, to stoichiometry, acids and bases, and nuclear equations. It is meant to give those students who take college chemistry a good foundation. Acknowledging that most students will not take college chemistry, this class will also teach how to become better problem solvers. It will teach students how to evaluate answers to see if they make sense. These skills will serve them well in all phases of their lives. That is the goal and I hope all will achieve this in the end. :)
