I teach Special English and am one of two inclusion teachers at AHS. My employment at AISD began in 1980 as an aide in a self-contained classroom. After attending college at night for many years, I left in 1993 to attend school full time. After graduating with a BS in Psychology in 1997, I spent several years as a pre-school teacher at two different locations in Temple and a few years as the City Secretary in LRA. Then I was blessed to be hired by AISD in my current position. I also am the STUCO sponsor and Ready Writing UIL coach. I have been married fifty years (on Dec. 17) to Richard Smith (Smitty), who is "The Voice of the Bees". We have three children, Rick, Missy, and Robby, and six grandsons, Austin, Tanner, Riley, Rowdy, Cash and Ace. We love to travel and have been fortunate to be able to visit many states in the last few years. We love AISD, the students who attend our schools and the family atmosphere we enjoy.
