Jared Hunt - Athletic Director
It’s a GREAT day to be a Bumblebee!
I don’t think words can express how honored and privileged I am to be the Athletic Director here at Academy ISD. Academy ISD and the Little River-Academy community mean so much to our family. I can’t think of anything more rewarding than taking this program to the next level!
Our athletic mission is to prepare our athletes for success on and off the field/court for the rest of their lives. We will focus our purpose on relationships and hold our student-athletes to our standard, which is BEST.
The core principles of our program will be:
Accountability - We do what we say we will do.
Energy and Work Ethic - We compete in everything we do.
Family - We always put the team first.
Integrity - We do what is right at all times.
Mental and Physical Toughness - We are at our best every play and overcome all adversity.
Confidence, Belief, and Faith - We trust that our process will bring results.
To paraphrase what Coach PJ Fleck once said, this will be a new era of Academy Athletics; it is not about us. It’s about how we can serve and give to other people. We’re going to connect people to Academy Athletics who don’t even like sports. We’re going to connect them because of how we do things. They’re going to want to be a part of it. The ‘how’ of a person is your heart, your spirit, your mind, your soul, and it can’t be measured by a ruler. It can be measured by your actions. Our athletes will have incredible, elite actions every single day, and we are here as leaders to teach them how to do that.
I am the luckiest man alive because of my family. My wife Krystan is a 2nd grade teacher at Academy Elementary and we have 2 beautiful daughters; Hadley (6) and Hannah (2).
